The Opportunity:
Are you an experienced event planner who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment?
British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for an Event Planner to join the Force Planning Unit (FPU). As an Event Planner with BTP, you will provide high-quality planning and coordination for football and Level 2 events, working closely with Event Commanders, operational colleagues and external partners to ensure events are effectively planned and supported.
You will also provide real-time support to senior command teams during planned events and incidents, working in an environment where priorities can change quickly.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and coordinating football and Level 2 events, producing high-quality plans, Operational Orders and associated documentation.
- Working closely with Event Commanders, Bronze Commanders and key stakeholders throughout the planning, delivery and debrief stages of events.
- Liaising with railway industry partners, intelligence colleagues and resource planning teams to ensure plans reflect current operational requirements and intelligence.
- Providing real-time support to Gold, Silver and Bronze Commanders during planned events and incidents, ensuring appropriate contingencies and decision-making records are maintained.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Educated to a minimum of A-level standard, or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work to challenging deadlines and provide effective support in time-critical situations.
- Experience of building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, alongside the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organisational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with experience of contingency planning and record keeping, together with a sound working knowledge of event planning within policing and relevant legislation and policy.

Please note that this role operates within a challenging and changeable operational environment. Event Planners are expected to support Force mobilisation plans when activated by critical incidents, which may result in extended working hours.
