  • Acting as a finance subject-matter expert across BTP’s investment, governance and project delivery mechanisms
  • Leading or contributing to finance‑led projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with project, programme and senior stakeholders to support effective financial governance and delivery

What you’ll bring to the team

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate strength in either project delivery or finance, with exposure to the other area and a willingness to develop further.

Qualifications

  • Either a recognised project, programme or portfolio management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, MoP, APM PMQ/PPQ or equivalent)
  • Or part‑qualified or fully qualified membership of a recognised accounting body (e.g. ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent)
  • Plus a degree‑level qualification (or equivalent experience)

 Experience

  • Experience working within a project, programme or portfolio environment, supporting complex change or investment activity
  • Experience of financial management in a change or investment context, such as budgets, forecasting, or financial analysis
  • Experience contributing to, reviewing or assuring business cases and / or other governance submissions

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret and explain financial information clearly
  • Confidence engaging with and influencing stakeholders at different levels
  • Understanding of project and programme financial management and governance processes

If you don’t tick every box, we would still love to hear from you. We’re keen to hear from candidates with strong experience in either project management or finance, who also have some practical experience in the other area that can be built on.
