The Opportunity:

Salary: £38,264.81 plus £4427.65 London Allowance (applicable to London-based candidates only) per annum

Contract Type: 12-month fixed term contract

Location: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Cardiff or Glasgow

Type of Working Arrangement: This role can be predominantly undertaken remotely, however, the successful candidate will need to be able to travel to any of our main hubs as and when required for business needs.

Hours: This is full-time role (37 hours per week) 

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for a Learning Designer. As a Learning Designer with BTP, you will join a team of Content Producers, Videographers and Editors to work on a 12-month project. The project is to transform our current Police Officer recruit training programme into a more succinct, flexible, modern programme that maximises the use of learning technologies.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing learning materials, learner profiles and program objectives to identify gaps and areas for improvement; work with trainers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help design new and re-design existing learning programmes with a blended learning approach.
  • Design assessment strategies to measure learning outcomes and gather feedback from learners and stakeholders for continuous improvement of the learning program.
  • Ensure that learning materials are accessible to all learners, including those with disabilities, by adhering to accessibility standards and universal design principles.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of the design and development process, including project plans, design documents and progress reports.
  • Establish effective relationships with key internal and external partners to implement a collaborative approach to learning and development and ensure the best outcome for the learner.

Essential Skills: 

  • Proven experience in designing new and innovative learning solutions, including face to face and a broad range of digital learning solutions.
  • Experience of working with a learning management system to deploy learning.
  • Fully competent in using and operating the full suite of Microsoft 365 products.
  • Excellent creative design skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills at all levels, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Passionate about the latest and newly emerging learning technologies.
  • Fluency in Welsh language, written and verbal is desirable (if based in Cardiff).
