Salary: £39,871.93 per annum, plus London Allowance £4,613.61 (For candidates based in London).

Hours:  37 hours per week

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for a Police Driving Instructor to join the Learning and Development department. As a Police Driving Instructor with BTP, you will deliver quality training to operational police officers and police staff within the Force.

What you'll be doing: 

  • Deliver driver training to police officers and police staff in line with College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice (APP), National Police Driving Standards and relevant legislation. 
  •  Plan, design and deliver standard, advanced and specialist driver training programmes, ensuring learning is tailored to individual needs. 
  • Conduct driver assessments, refresher training and DriverMetrics assessments, maintaining accurate records and updating force systems as required. 
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure the safety of students, instructors, the public and training vehicles throughout all training activities

 

What you'll bring to the team: 

Initial Eligibility Criteria:


  • Police Staff must be a currently serving and undertaking Police Driver Training within their current force.  
  • Must have lived in the UK for the past 3 consecutive years
  • No live misconduct warnings or performance issues
  • Cannot be under current investigation by another force
  • No active CCJs, unmanaged IVAs, or bankruptcy
  • We do not accept applications from those dismissed from another force

 

Role Specific Essential Criteria:

  • Must hold a College of Policing Advanced Car Permit.
  • Must hold a College of Policing Police Driving Instructor or Police Driver Trainer permit
  • Must hold a Level 4 CET, or TEP modules 1-3 
  • Must hold A1 Assessor / CAVA or TEP module 5 
  • Must have had Operational Competence and experience in I.P.P/HOSTYDS and/or TPAC

Desirable:

  • DVLA ADI and hold C1/D1 entitlements
