Job Introduction
British Transport Police (BTP) are recruiting for a Digital Workplace Architect for Platforms on a permanent contract. The role is paying £58,865.26 per annum and will be based at one of our main BTP sites: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow or Cardiff. This role does however offer a blended approach of home and office working.
As a Digital Workplace Architect for Platforms, you will be required to:
- Design and Development of Digital Workplace Solutions: The role involves producing detailed, robust architectural designs, design policies, and strategies. This includes high and low-level designs, testing plans, and documentation for all Digital Workplace solutions to support business requirements and the Digital Workplace strategy
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: The architect will need to engage with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure best practices and shared collaborative learning around Digital Workplace. This includes leading workshops, training sessions, and creating procedure manuals
- Implementation and Maintenance of Microsoft 365 Platforms: The role supports and delivers the formal requirements associated with Microsoft 365 service architecture, service design, service management, and configuration management responsibilities
- Digital Workplace Strategy and Roadmap: The architect plays a key role in delivering the Digital Workplace Roadmap, contributing to its ongoing transformation and roadmap preparedness. This includes mitigating and managing associated risks regarding IT assets and services, and driving cost efficiencies and mobility
- Technical Support and Documentation: The role involves the maintenance and upkeep of architectural designs and documentation, leading the solution transition into support, and devising relevant workshops and training
The successful Digital Workplace Architect for Platforms will be required to evidence the following:
- Expert knowledge in Enterprise and Solution Architecture principles, frameworks and best practices.
- Expert knowledge of the M365 platform (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), configuration and security (Defender) relevant to Digital Workplace
- Expert knowledge in identity management and access with EntraID
- Expert knowledge of compliance and governance, data security and privacy management through M365 Purview and Priva

In return for your experience, we can offer you:
- Starting salary of £58,865.26 per annum non contractual/non pensionable Skills for the Information Age Supplement up to £10,346.98 (value awarded 0%,50% or 100% dependant on self- assessment) and London Allowance (if based in London) of £3177.65 per annum
