Join us and help create an environment where we can all be our best every day.
The Opportunity:
British Transport Police (BTP) are recruiting two Estates Project Manager's to join the Estates team and support delivery within our A Force on the Move transformation programme.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or early‑career professionals, particularly those with a background in Construction, Engineering, Surveying or Estates, who are looking to take their first step into project management.
In this role, you’ll be part of a major transformation programme, helping to modernise how the Force operates and improve the environments in which our people work. You’ll work on real, high‑impact projects from the outset, gaining hands‑on experience across the full project lifecycle.
You’ll support and lead projects by developing plans, coordinating teams, and tracking progress to ensure delivery on time and within budget. You’ll also gain experience creating business cases, managing stakeholders and contributing to key decisions that shape the future of BTP.
Working within BTP’s ENTERPRISE change framework, you’ll build practical knowledge of structured project delivery while developing your skills in planning, communication and stakeholder engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn, develop and grow your career, with exposure to large‑scale estates projects and the chance to make a real impact within a national policing organisation.
What you'll be doing:

- Working with project teams and stakeholders to plan, coordinate and deliver projects on time and within budget
- Managing the full project lifecycle, from early planning and business case development through to delivery and handover
- Preparing reports, tracking progress and managing risks, issues and project performance
- Building strong relationships with colleagues and partners to support collaborative and effective delivery
- Supporting the transition of projects into business‑as‑usual and contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement
What you'll bring to the team:
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g. Construction, Engineering, Surveying, Facilities or Estates Management) or equivalent experience
- Some experience of delivering or supporting projects, with an understanding of structured project management approaches
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to prepare reports, business cases and practical recommendations
- Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across a range of audiences
- Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver work effectively, either independently or as part of a team
- A proactive, resilient approach, with the ability to solve problems, adapt to change and make decisions under pressure
What we offer:
- 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 5 years.
- Family-friendly policies, including up to 26 weeks paid maternity and adoption leave.
- Bespoke benefits platform and Blue Light Card access.

- Interest-free annual rail season ticket loan after 6 months. (not applicable for FTC's)
- Access to the Transport Benevolent Fund for health, welfare, and financial support.
- Development opportunities, including fully funded apprenticeships.
