The Opportunity:
British Transport Police have an opportunity for a Occupational Health Practice Nurse to join our Occupational Health team. As a Occupational Health Practice Nurse with BTP, you’ll make a real impact, supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people. You’ll provide clear, practical advice that helps colleagues stay well, return to work safely and perform at their best.
What you'll be doing:
- Carry out occupational health assessments to establish fitness for work for operational Officers and police staff which may be face to face clinics, paper or remote assessment.
- Provide clear and appropriate reporting of medical assessment outcomes to employees, line managers and relevant departments.
- Deliver health surveillance and keep accurate, confidential records
- Support managers and staff with advice on workplace health and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with OH colleagues, recruitment, People delivery and others to support the effective delivery of OH services.
What we’re looking for, Your Essential Skills:
- Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with occupational health or relevant clinical experience.
- Strong clinical judgement and confidence in making practical recommendations
- Clear written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage your workload while working as part of a team
- Strong customer service orientation and able to develop good working relationships
Desirable criteria:
- Certificates in Audiometry, spirometry, vision screening.
