Salary: Up to £76,298.19: (£61,337.60 basic salary per annum with yearly increments based on performance, plus £4,613.61 London Allowance if applicable, plus a non-contractual/non pensionable Skills for the Information Age supplement of up to £10,346.98 awarded either 0%.50% or 100% based on validation of self-assessment).
Contract Type: 23-month fixed term contract
Location: Can be based at any of our main hubs either London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester or Leeds
Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available.
Hours: This is full-time role (37 hours per week).

The Opportunity:
The Technology Department is recruiting for a Digital Workplace Architect to design and deliver intelligent, automated, and user-centric digital workplace solutions that enhance productivity, collaboration, and operational effectiveness across the force. You’ll drive the architectural design of workplace services - leveraging AI, automation, and modern digital platforms - to make our tools smarter, faster, and easier to use. From streamlining workflows to embedding intelligent assistants, your work will directly support frontline policing and public safety.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the design and optimisation of digital workplace services
- Identify opportunities to embed AI and automation into workplace services
- Collaborate with IT, business stakeholders, and external partners to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions
- Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies that improve digital employee experience
- Ensure solutions meet accessibility, security, and compliance standards in a policing environment
What you will bring to the team:
- Proven experience in digital workplace architecture and solution design,
- TOGAF certified or equivalent experience
- Experience designing or implementing AI/automation solutions (e.g., Power Platform, Copilot, RPA, chatbots)
- Expert understanding of Microsoft services together with recognised Microsoft certifications
- Strong understanding of AI, automation, and digital service design principles
- A user-first mindset with a passion for simplifying complex systems
