Job Introduction

Salary: £35,754.47 per annum with yearly increments based on performance plus £4613.61 London Allowance.

Contract Type: 9 month opportunity

Location: BPR

Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available

Hours: 37 hours per week

The Opportunity:

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for an Operational Systems Officer to join the Applications team on a 9 month internal opportunity. As an Operational Systems Officer you will investigate, analyse and resolve system related calls to ensure that the Core Operational Policing Systems and mobile solutions run efficiently and effectively.

 

What you'll be doing: 

  • To provide specialist advice and guidance regarding the functionality and capability of Core Operational Systems to system users at all levels.
  • To configure the systems as required by the Operational Systems Specialist to deliver requests for change, organise and run testing of change, manage user acceptance testing and produce guidance documents prior to promotion to live environments.
  • Configure and test system upgrades and patches, produce guidance documents and facilitate user acceptance testing. 

What you'll bring to the team: 

  • A good standard of general education.
  • Experience of working with IT systems and processes.
  • Experience of systems administration.
  • Experience of system upgrades, testing new versions and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience of managing internal and external stakeholders at a practitioner level.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising competing demands and shifting priorities.
