The Opportunity:

British Transport Police have three opportunities for Project Managers to join the Transformation Department. As one of our Project Managers, you will provide a critical driving

Projects will form part of larger programmes aligned to the delivery of our strategic blueprint (2026-29). You will construct detailed work plans and roadmaps, manage projects teams, draft business cases, undertake procurement, manage project budgets, deliver milestones, and communicate the results across a diverse stakeholder audience. The postholders will keep their project(s) on schedule, within scope and within budget, providing expert project management and supporting delivery of the transformation portfolio outcomes.

  • Co-ordinating multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders and third‑party suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and effective communication.
  • Managing project budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and resources, using appropriate governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Proven experience in project management, including leading and delivering complex projects within a structured governance framework.
  • Strong management and stakeholder skills, with the ability to lead project teams and communicate effectively across organisational levels, including at project boards.
  • Solid experience of developing business cases for new projects and presenting these for approval at relevant committees.
  • Ability to manage project capital and revenue budgets and oversee delivery using commercial processes to engage third party suppliers.
  • Good understanding of commercial processes involved in securing third party providers to deliver new products and services in a public sector environment.
  • Good understanding of risk, issue and change management, along with the ability to analyse data and make evidence‑based decisions.

What we offer:

  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 5 years.
  • Family-friendly policies, including up to 26 weeks paid maternity and adoption leave.

  • Development opportunities, including fully funded apprenticeships.
